Tunisia, in North Africa on the Mediterranean Sea, borders Algeria and Libya. The capital is Tunis, and other important cities include Sfax, Ariana and Sousse. The country has a rich history stretching from Carthage through Roman and Arab influence. The north has a Mediterranean climate, while the south is dry and continental. The best time to visit is spring and autumn, when temperatures are mild. Tunisia delights with beautiful beaches, ancient ruins and landscapes ranging from mountains to desert.
