Oman
Oman, at the south-eastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, borders the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. The country neighbours the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. The capital is Muscat. Known for its desert landscapes and the Jabal Shams mountains, Oman has a dry tropical climate. Winter temperatures are around 20°C, while in summer they can reach 50°C. The best time to visit is the cooler winter months. Oman is a member of the Arab League and has a rich trading history.
